Today Wells Fargo admitted that they too made mistakes in foreclosure paperwork for thousands cases and have vowed to fix them by re-filing documents in 55,000 of the cases by the middle of November.
Wells Fargo stated that not all foreclosure cases included errors but at the same time they gave no indication as to how many did.
The mistakes were technical and small and at this point they have no plans to cease their foreclosure process. However, re-filing new paperwork will cause some delays in some of their cases.
Teri Schrettenbrunner, a Wells Fargo spokeswoman said, "We don't believe that there are instances in which the foreclosures would not have occurred otherwise."
With Wells Fargo's foreclosure practices in question there have been depositions of a couple of Wells Fargo employees. In one deposition, taken last March, an employee said that they signed between 300 and 500 foreclosure documents per day.
Another Wells Fargo employee said in a May deposition that he only verified the dates on up to 150 foreclosure documents he signed daily and he felt confident that his co-workers would ensure that the rest of the information was accurate.
