A survey that was released by Fannie Mae today indicates that nearly two-thirds of the nation feels that now is the right time to buy a house and a majority of those polled strongly believe that home prices will remain steady at the current level or will go higher throughout the remainder of the year.
The survey also showed that 64% felt that now it is a good time to buy which is two percent below a similar survey was taken back in 2003 when the housing market was at a very high pace.
Out of the 3,451 who took the Fannie Mae poll a majority of them stated that it will be much tougher for them to get a loan compared to when their parents went for a home loan.
According to some analysts despite the fact that home prices in some areas of the nation are rising, delinquency rates across the nation continue to climb which means that foreclosures will add constant pressure on the market for some time to come. Right now the nations housing market is slowly recovering from the worst economic downturn since the 1930s.
Still, of those taking part in the poll still "strongly believe" that Fannie Mae should continue to uphold their financial commitments. Fannie Mae is the largest U.S. mortgage finance company in the United States.
