Yesterday's "Yuppies" are today's Gen Xer's. The X generation group, comprised of 28-43 year olds, are looking for real estate opportunities to be centrally located with all the things that encompass their lives: shopping, nightlife, lively restaurants and a sense of communal living all at their door step. One area in particular is the famed intersection of Hollywood and Vine where so many movie stars of old were discovered just walking down the street. Today, Hollywood and Vine seems to be the nucleus for this new trend in urban living that caters directly to Gen Xer's. In this area alone, approximately 2,500 new condominiums and apartments have cropped up as the Hollywood Boulvard area has become a gentrified hot spot of late.

One such place is called "Hollywood" which is a 54 unit high rise condo complex featuring units with high ceilings which are light and bright and have a distinctive European feel. The renowned architect, Stephan Kanner, who designed the "Hollywood" and other important local buildings truly feels that this type of complex is perfect for this urban-inclined segmented market. Prices range from $651,000 for a two bedroom unit with 2 1/2 bath within 1160 square feet to a $2,146,000 penthouse with three bedrooms, 3 3/4 baths and an outdoor terrace with incredible views of downtown Los Angeles, Hollywood and the sparkling Pacific Ocean. Each condo features hardwood and stone flooring, fireplaces and master suites. Glamorous buildings such as these seem to be on the "high-rise" and are certainly an opportunity to create yet another niche market for yourself!
