The Realtor Service Volunteer Program, RSVP, is the Northern California real estate industry's way of giving showing their gratitude by giving back to their communities. Through RSVP, local agents are able to take structured time to help senior citizens and homebound community members perform household tasks they cannot achieve on their own. The simple things often taken for granted include: window washing, mattress rotating, smoke detector installation, vacuuming, dusting, light bulb replacement, hedge trimming, and replacing of house numbers, to name only a few.

The annual community service project that occurs in early May has been adopted by each of the five districts of the Silicon Valley Association of Realtors, and has been in existence since 2001. The program has since expanded to include those in San Mateo County, Santa Cruz, Santa Clara, Fresno, and this year, Los Gatos, proving that a realtor's job is not only about commission, but also about community.
