Californians unwittingly learn how to shake things up on a regular basis as they are exposed to mild earthquakes often. A little ground shaking isn't enough to scare people away from the pleasant image that is California: warm, friendly and "laid-back."

A moderate quake shook rural Northern California near Willow Creek, about 190 miles Northwest of Sacramento, and measured a magnitude of 5.2 last week. As with many incidental earthquakes, people unsure as to whether or not it was an actual quake confirmed their queries with the local sheriff's office and resumed their daily lives. No damages were reported.

Congruent with the California's "roll-with-it" image is the fact that only 12% of California homeowners have additional earthquake insurance.
