Based on many recent findings the housing market is improving, however, it will still be some time before there will be an up tick in the market. As a result many sellers may find that their homes are sitting on the market longer than they expected. If this happens what are their options?

One option is to go back and take some new images of the home along with rewriting the homes description for the MLS. That alone could spark some new interest.

Another option is to spend some time walking through the house seeing if there are areas that need attention. If the house is cluttered then take the time to de-clutter your home. If you don't have enough storage space to put away the items you remove then look into renting a locker at a local storage facility.

If your homes landscaping is needs some help look into buying some flowers to add color to your home. Make sure the yard is cut, the hedges trimmed and all leaves have been raked up.

Do the interior spaces need a fresh coat of paint? If so, try and keep the colors neutral.

Lastly, we all know home values continue to change so maybe your listing agent will need to reassess your neighborhood to make sure your home is competitively priced.

There are no guarantees that these changes will help generate more attention to your home, but they couldn't hurt.
