According to real estate research firm DataQuick, San Francisco Area home sales posted their best March in five years.
Home sales in the region are up 9.1% compared to March of 2011, and when winter season ended and the typical busy spring buying season began in February home sales rose sharply by 34.9% from February to March.
The area's median home price is remaining relatively flat at $358,000 which is down 0.6% from this same time last year.
In the Contra Costa, Napa, Santa Clara and Sonoma counties the median home price improved year-over-year however San Francisco County home prices remain unchanged.
